What Is Fungicros Cream?

Fungicros Cream contains amorolfine 0.25% combined with phenoxyethanol 1% as a preservative. It is a topical cream made by Sun Pharma. It is applied directly to the skin on affected areas. Amorolfine is an antifungal compound that attacks the cell membrane of the fungus directly. It belongs to the morpholine class of antifungals. Dermatologists use it because it targets the fungal membrane at two points. This makes it harder for the fungus to survive or spread on the skin.

What Skin Conditions Does It Treat?

Fungicros Cream is used for fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes and yeasts. These infections show up as red, scaly, itchy patches that can spread if left untreated. Ringworm, athlete’s foot, and similar fungal infections are common targets.

People who sweat heavily, wear tight footwear, or spend time in damp environments are especially prone to these infections.

How Amorolfine 0.25% Works on the Skin

Amorolfine blocks two steps in the production of ergosterol. Ergosterol is the compound that keeps fungal cell membranes intact. Without it, the fungal membrane breaks down and the fungus cannot reproduce on the skin surface.

This two-point blocking is what makes amorolfine effective even against strains that resist some other antifungals. As the fungal cells die, redness and scaling start to reduce. The itching settles over time.

How to Apply Fungicros Cream

  • Wash the affected area with mild soap and water before applying. Pat the skin fully dry applying to damp skin can dilute the cream and reduce contact with the infection. Apply a thin layer to the affected area and a small margin of skin around it.
  • Do this once or twice daily as your doctor directs. Keep it away from the eyes and mucous membranes.
  • If you are treating a foot infection, change your socks daily and let footwear air out between uses. The cream works on the skin, but reinfection from damp footwear is a common reason treatment fails.

How Long Before Results Show

Most fungal skin infections begin to respond within one to two weeks of consistent use. The itching and redness usually settle first. Visible clearing of the scaly patches takes longer.

Expect four to six weeks for the skin to look fully normal. Do not stop using the cream early even if the skin looks clear. The fungus can return if treatment is cut short.

Side Effects on the Skin

Fungicros Cream is handled without issues by most people, but some skin reactions can occur:

  • Mild burning or stinging on first application
  • Redness or irritation at the application site
  • Dry or flaking skin around the treated area
  • Itching that temporarily worsens in the first few days
  • Contact dermatitis in people sensitive to any ingredient
  • Skin discolouration in rare cases

Stop using it and see a doctor if you notice blistering, swelling, or a rash spreading beyond the treated area.

Who Should Not Use It

People with a known allergy to amorolfine or phenoxyethanol should not use this product. Do not apply it to broken, raw, or heavily inflamed skin. Children should only use this cream under direct medical supervision.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to a doctor before starting any topical antifungal. Do not apply it at the same time as other active creams on the same area without asking a doctor first.
